Luxury is fundamental

The more time is condensed, the deeper beauty becomes.

01 / LUXURY IS FUNDAMENTAL

Beauty does not lie in what is visible,
but reveals itself through an attitude
preserved over time.

What has been preserved over time gains a sense of stability through the accumulation of time. That time leaves history and attitude in an object, and its traces feel like the solid beauty of a jewel.

The luxury I speak of is not a logo or surface splendor, but a noble condensation of time held in a brand’s long-preserved history, authenticity, and craftsmanship.

The beauty of luxury begins with holding time, its most fundamental value.

02 / THE JEWEL HUMAN
A practice exploring the essence of beauty

Why I draw
jewel humans

People find beauty in the sensations that fill their sense of lack. For me, that lack was stability, expressed through firm straight lines, transparency, and the warmth of surfaces marked by accumulated time.

This is why the people in my drawings are made from essential structures and sensations alone. Metallic straight lines carrying a strong sensibility meet and shine as jewel-like presences.

Jewel humans hold my belief that true beauty is revealed only through structure, time, and transparent essence.

Geometric Drawing

A structure left visible for transparency

My work removes the planes that cover the exterior,
leaving only the framework, direction, proportion, and tension
that compose the human figure.

Complex phenomena are recomposed through simple lines and geometry, and the subject’s essence emerges through transparent structure.

WATERCOLOR / INK & MIXED MEDIA

The moment lines become a jewel

Firm metallic straight lines and the transparent grain of watercolor
layer different temporalities within a single picture plane.

Each line meets the others to create a jewel-like light,
and the sense of stability I pursue becomes a sculptural language.

03 / THE SPACE THAT RECEIVES LIFE

How an empty picture plane
receives vitality

In my recent work, I use leaves and hanji together. The straight lines that follow the body and its gestures symbolize stability; I leave on the picture plane moments when, like a solid rock, a steady sensibility and the strength to overcome time are felt together.

At a recent exhibition, my drawing was placed between exposed concrete bearing the traces of passing years and green plants, symbols of vitality. The leaf veins seemed to overlap with the drawing’s straight lines. The lines extending powerfully through the body felt, like a plant’s veins, charged with the energy of life.

Though delicate in appearance, the plants held a will and energy for life stronger than anything else. The time endured by the figure in the drawing met the green plants and illuminated their mutual presence; in that moment, the drawing absorbed the time and vitality flowing around it and emerged with greater clarity.

What I speak of, ultimately, is the strength left by time and the beauty revealed within it. My work does not seek to assert something; it leaves room for the work to be felt more fully when its surroundings are considered together.

The more that is left empty,
the more clearly we see

The lines of an unclothed body
become clearer, while leaves, light,
space, and time permeate the drawing.

Had a complete outfit filled the picture plane,
my thinking and the surrounding environment
would have struggled to find a place to remain.

An empty picture plane is not a lack; it is a place where essence and vitality can emerge more clearly.

An empty place
invites us to look more deeply
at what we need to see.

Time and attitude make luxury

Brands that remain in memory have their own histories and craftsmanship. In every choice of form, material, and image, what they have valued remains.

Luxury today must move beyond visible surfaces and speak again of the time and attitude accumulated within. History is the most fundamental light that makes a brand beautiful.

04 / BRAND STORY

The story of a brand
is its deepest essence

Whether a person or a product, each story forms the beauty and foundation of its existence.

Through my jewel-human works, I reveal this essence through transparent structures and firm straight lines. The artist’s perspective invites us to view the time and attitude a luxury brand has preserved through a new sculptural language.

The time a brand has preserved
becomes a new scene

My straight lines and transparent structures invite us to view that depth from another angle.

Collaboration is where the time a brand has preserved and the perspective of my work meet in a new scene.

Only brands that hold time can speak of the deepest beauty.

05 / ATELIER

Where the artist’s gaze meets the brand

Rather than offering an already determined answer, this meeting is a point of departure for discovering new sensibilities and possibilities through which a brand can move toward its next scene.

Collaboration
First encounter
Through an artist’s gaze, we look together at the time, attitude, and materials held by the brand.
Discovering possibilities
We explore whether the brand’s history and the artist’s formal language can truly meet.
When the sensibilities align
The collaboration can then expand into artwork that reveals anew the history, craftsmanship, and time already held by the brand.
